2000 volvo v70 air conditioning

Last year I replaced the condensor because I damaged it when I hit something. I had working AC before that. I finally bought a vac. pump and gauges and just used the vacuum pump to evacuate the system, then I filled it with a can of refrigerant. To my surprise it only took less than one small can. Now the clutch engages and cyles (very quickly, probably on for 3 seconds, then off for 6 or seven seconds. The gauge on the refridgerant can goes between almost red (too high) to the bottom of the green (almost too low). Even though the compressor is engaging, the lines are not getting cold at all and there is not AC whatsoever. Please consider I am new to this. Any advice?

If you vac the system, it will need to be serviced with the proper amount of PAG oil and refrigerant.
