'99 S70 Base 138K miles - Dash Bulb Warning Light

One of my license plate lights was out causing the dash bulb warning indicator lamp to light. I changed both license plate light bulbs, but that did not extinguish the bulb warning light on the dash. In the past when I've had a burned out headlight and replaced it, the bulb indicator lamp reset itself. Is there some reason it isn't doing so now after the license plate bulb replacement? I have a scanner, but as far as I know, it won't reset the bulb warning light.

You may have to do what I did and pull each bulb and check it out for damage/rust/abnormalities which may make the system think there is a problem.

The license plate lamps aren't part of the warning system.

Bulb failure warning light

The light will come on if any of the following bulbs are defective:

one of the low beam headlights
one of the tail lights
one of the brake lights when the brake pedal is depressed.

Check the fuse and bulb. See sections "Replacing bulbs" and "fuses".
Should the warning light come on after a defective outside bulb has been replaced,
the corresponding bulb on the other side of the car should also be replaced.

You have another problem - Probably dirty contacts.
Solve it and the dash light will go out.

Buy a two pack and replace both tail lights. Run those sentences concurrently,
