XC90 2003 2.5t AWD - Brake Assist Service Required Simple Fix

Post by ALF1 »

After replacing the Brake Position Sensor on my 2003 Volvo XC90 2.5t AWD with 250,000 miles (which is located on the Brake Booster body) the car issued a 'Brake Assist Service Required' warning and a code P0573 (OBDII) which translates in Volvo code to-- ECM-900C -- Brake pedal sensor -- Signal too low . Also, the cruise control stopped working.

Others in this forum have noted that this means that something is wrong with the Brake Position Sensor. In my case, it was a loose electrical connection where the car's electrical fitting connects to the Brake Position Sensor's electrical connector.
