08 xc90 doors locked/unlocked while parked

Post by dw2001v70 »

I have an 08 xc90 that while parked the doors will randomly lock/unlock. If we park the car, lock it and walk in the house, i can come back out 30 min later and hear the doors locking/unlocking. Sometimes if we don't drive for a few days it will actually drain the battery.

Any spills in the door lock switches on either front door?
Have you used key in driver's door to see if the key still locks and unlocks.
Last, put remotes in a metal pan with a metal lid to assure it isn't a remote doing crazy stuff/ button sticks. If isolation in a sauce pan with lid works then do one at a time until you know which one triggers locks.

No spills that I'm aware of, using the key in the door still works as designed, I'm going to check/try the remote thing perhaps it's buttons sticking on that.
Thanks will reply with findings

Update: I just tore the keyfob apart (only have 1) after pulling off the rubber piece between the circuit board and plastic i found the unlock botton came un-soldered from the board, perhaps this was this issue it was randomly making contact and causing the unlocking (it's annoying to get out walk 10 steps and hear the car unlock again)

I soldered the button back on, put it back together, works good, haven't heard the random unlocks like i did before, however have to get to work, will continue to monitor and report back later

Thanks
