02 V70 Cabin fan and dash lighting problem

Post by Norm_B »

Having a problem which I can't figure out with my 2002 V70. The blower for the cabin fan stopped working, and the dimmer switch for the dash lights/headlight control switch also stopped working. The climate control module was my first thought, so I swapped it out for a spare I had. No luck. All of the other functions on the ccm work (defroster, heat for the seats, etc), an the headlights turn on automatically at night. Fan is not jammed, I pulled it down and checked. I think the two problems are somehow linked but I'm just not sure where to go from here. Any thoughts?

Checked the fuses, they were fine. No corrosion or anything. No codes that I can find with my scan tool. Going to try a new resistor see if that's the problem with the fan. The headlight control switch I may just replace. Can find used in eBay fairly cheap.
