I have an '89 740 Wagon and have misplaced my key. I have called a locksmith, but they are not able to reverse engineer a key.
Im to the point I'm pretty sure I need a new ignition cylinder, and I have looked locally, but have not had much luck.
I have seen them on Ebay, but if by chance someone on this forum had one available, I may be interested. I have seen them new, but is out of my price range...

Taking the door lock to the locksmith should result in a key that fits the door lock. Also your local Volvo dealer may be able to cut you a new key from the VIN number, providing the locks haven't previously been replaced.
