I started getting random cut-outs after that alternator went and took out the headlights. I figured since the relay was rather old it was likely the issue. Odds are it didn't appreciate the surge and likely AC voltages.
Part ($10) was sourced from Amazon since I already had an order in. The Volvo relay is $22 if you decide to take that route.
Orig was Hella 4RA 003 510-75 AKA Volvo 9128164 - date code 418.
Old one will sit in my car's glove box just in case this one isn't up to the challenge. I didn't disassemble the new one but the old one had a diode across the coil - but not protecting the coil.
Next thing on the to-do list - figure out the malfunction of the cig lighter up by the gear selector. The one in the back works, this one doesn't. In/under/near the gear selector I believe there is either a bad micro-switch or a bad bulb as it doesn't always light up when it should.
