Engine swapped now limp mode - 02 XC70

Post by cgautier89 »

Hi guys! Well my 213k engine gave up around a month ago..got a 2001 engine with 110k huge mistake since 01 had the etm problems in that year after 02 everything was alright..but cant do anything right now motor is already in and I knew about the motor design after everything and has been started..it idles really rough I plugged in my scan tool a Autel Md802 and gave me these codes: ECM-903C Throttle position sensor FAULTY SIGNAL , ECM-9150 Throttle unit potentiometer 1 signal too high , ECM 9170 Throttle valve faulty signal , ECM-9160 Throttle unit potentiometer 2 signal too low , ECM-3000 Inlet Camshaft sensor Signal too high. I bought a ETM manufactured/built in 2004 and a camshaft position sensor..swapped both and Im having the same codes and same rough idle when the accelerated it doesnt go above 1500 rpm..Im getting a message "Reduced Engine Performance". Need help asap, Im moving soon across the country Maine to Utah. Recently bought a ecu that came out of a 2001 V70 XC arrives in a few days. Will that ecu needs to be reprogrammed?

You need to swap cam/crank sensors and throttle over from the 2002 engine onto the 2001 engine. There is no way this car will work with a 2001 ECM because of a totally different throttle system and a cam sensor on INTAKE NOT EXHAUST.

Please tell me you understand that you could have swapped everything over from the 2002 motor to the 2001 motor. This just won't work otherwise.

MOTOR DESIGN is exactly the same between 2001 and 2002. All accessories such as thermostat, cam and crank sensors and throttle need to be swapped from one motor to another.
