'97 850 auto transmission shifter knob

Is it the same for 850 & s,v,c,xc70 from '97-'00?

Yes they are the same, and the 850 too. You can buy replacement knobs for the shifter if they break, but you probably know that.

Yes the video is a great help! Turn the leather/vinyl boot at the bottom of the shifter knob to release the boot from the shifter. Make sure that the plastic ring does not get loose as it only fits back one way around. By that I mean if it gets turned over then it will not snap back in onto the replaced shifter (as I found out!!). Otherwise as rspi says it is easy, although sometimes they can be a little (no make that very) reluctant to come loose!
