What information am I looking for on the build/option plate by the battery? It looks like I'm in need of at least one spring (which means I'll be buying two) in the near future.
I believe I don't have Nivomat. Driver's rear of vehicle is sagging. Passenger's is fine thus far. May also replace the shocks at the same time since I'll be in there.

Passengers is about an inch taller than drivers last time I checked - I believe it to be a new development. I'll have to park it level again to check. If you're in the area and are bored, she's in front of the big marble Swan Street building (ESP) Friday - Monday morning from ~6:30PM to 8AM.
If you happen to choose to stop by, let me know. I'll come out of the command center and say hi. If not, there is always other days and other opportunities. =)

Look at the alphanumeric beneath "Line 19" for your code.

1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

If you have an AWD (especially and XC) I would be really surprised if you don't have Nivomats at the rear. They look like regular shocks with a rubber boot at the bottom and fatter than a normal shock.
The lowest string of 8 numbers/letters on the RHS of the Vin tag by the battery is where you get the info for your spring/shock combinations. In the case of my 2000 V70 base these numbers are:
F22PEVS5
First 2 digits 'F2' are the front spring and strut identifiers. Some of the websites will give you this to convert to a color band on the spring and sometimes the shock.
3rd digit '2' identifies the front anti-sway bar part number.
4th digit 'P' identifies the rear shock
5th digit 'E' identifies the rear spring
6th digit 'V' identifies the rear anti-sway bar part number
7th digit 'S' identifies the 'bump' rubber for both front and rear
8th digit '5' identifies the Steering rack type. 4 = TRW, 5 = SMI . Do be careful with this last number as the steering rack can be changed to the other brand by changing the inner and outer tie rods (can't remember if you have to change both inner and out or just one of them).
If you have difficulty, post the 8 digit number up here and I will try to keep an eye out for it and identify the spring and strut or shock combo.
Neil.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm going to do some further measurements next week to verify my eyes aren't deceiving me.

So the measurements say I'm crazy. I must have been parked on an uneven surface the last couple of days.
