2008 v70 Hood Latch Sensor

Post by martyrl »

2008 v70: I has a shop replace the radiator and now the 'Hood Open' message is on continuously. It appears the sensor is bad - since I can pull the wire from the sensor (but can barely see it), jump the connection and the message goes away. However, I can't find the part on any diagrams? Does anyone know the part #? Or is it built into the lock assembly? On both sides?

Driver's side latch has the hood switch. Are you really concerned with underhood theft or forgetting to close it? Jumper it and end the problem.

Actually - the wire connector is on the passenger side - but I think you are right - probably not worth the trouble replacing...

I was picturing P2 in my head. That makes sense as P3 has a major connector next to RH frame rail down below that latch that goes inside to the CEM in the RH bulkhead/footwell. CEM watches the latches.

Hi Martyrl, I have the same problem. Did you jumper the wires to make the problem go away?
