Audio amp and harness from 1999 S80?

Anyone know if this (Audio amp and harness from 1999 S80) would work in a 2001 S80 as part of an upgrade?

What is the amp number? I believe they should in theory.

It should work, however I'd rather get a used one from the later P2 cars such as the 8666630

Am I correct in assuming that amps were used only for the higher-end audio, such as the HU-801 with internal or external changer?
