Post by abscate »

Just a quick report that this puppy weighed in at 76.5lbs. easily removed on a floor jack, single handed, dropped, and leg lifted onto a furniture dolly for moving, solomente

Local corrections for G and also reduced mass were ignored in this measurement

Dropping it down it weighs 75lbs. Going up for installation while you are on the ground looking up... and positioning it it starts feels like 150lbs. That's why the jacks and the come-along-strap are necessary. May need a second helper/set of hands for install positioning. I found it helpful... so I used a teenager that's on the payroll already.

Yeah, it's a two person reinstall....teen already recruited

I'll put a piece of lumber and a strap to help position from up top too, so I can swing it in the breeze and allow angular adjustment to the engine.

Thanks, Rick!!

Thanks Jim. It would be really difficult to get this aligned and back in solo, indeed, unless you had that fancy articulated $8000 gold plated Volvo jig

I've done the automatic at 300 pounds twice with a floor jack and ratchet strap. Simple machines and patience go a long way.
