Strange High Idle Upon Startup

This morning, my '95 t-5r idle shot up to 2,500 and throttle tap did not clear, after 30 seconds it dropped and back to normal - what would cause this? Normally, it idles up to 1,500 and then drops after a few seconds. Any thoughts? I will see if this repeats tomorrow morning as well -

2500rpm is high. Wait until the next time like you suggest. These cars do have a short cold start higher engine speed.
