Time to replace automatic rear view mirror

Post by azureblue »

I found several how to vids, and I have the replacement that I pulled. But do I need to remove the assembly from the car, or is it possible to replace the mirror while the assembly is in the car? Battery disconnected, of course.....

Need to remove it from the car unless you can solder in place. I did mine on a work bench. Once reinstalled, it's worked fine for the last 5 years. This repair isn't for everybody, but much cheaper than going to the dealer.

Good luck.

I can solder in place. It looks like I can release the connector through the little hole in the bottom of the housing with the unit in place.. That step seems to be the hang up. Thanks
