Torque specs for V70 2013 brakes

Hi,

I am planning to change my front pads and discs in my v70 but couldn't find torque specs for the caliper bracket mounting screws.
Would there be a kind soul there to help me out with this?

Anyone? There must be someone who either done similar job before, or has some info about it. Mine are 16.5 inch discs and caliper bolts are M14.

Are these twin piston calipers?

If not you only need to remove the guide pins, remove the caliper cover, re-lubricate the guide pins and push the piston back. Caliper bracket removal is therefore unnecessary and to be avoided as you ideally don't want to be removing bolts with factory thread lock.

Therefore you only need the guide pin torque specs which wouldn't be high given their size; probably about 20Nm.

I actually needed to remove caliper with holding bracket as was also replacing discs.
Caliper to hub bolts are 200Nm.
Guide pins are 28Nm
Confirmed by Haynes manual and Vida.

Reread your post. You DID say pads and Discs. Got to get out of the habit of answering posts at 4am. Glad you found the info.

I wonder if these torque specs are correct? 200Nm sounds like an awful lot. I sheared off those bolts trying to reach 200, and now I need to check both my torque wrench and the torque specs.

I found 150 Nm mentioned https://club.autodoc.co.uk/pdf-manuals/ ... -guide.pdf for V70 P3 front brakes.
Another viewtopic.php?p=160465#p160465 here has a file that mentions 130Nm for M14 in general, but 105Nm+60° for the caliper bracket bolts (and mandatory bolt replacement).
I found another website purportedly having Volvo torque specs, which shows 88Nm. But this website seems to be AI slop, with AI generated images of Volvos. I will not link it and discount the value, 88Nm seems ridiculously low.
But then there are two videos from FCP Euro on front brake replacements, where they torque them with 200Nm.

So I'm really unsure now.

I'm going to help myself here. After some research, I will settle on 200Nm for the M14 bolts. For a dry bolt (no lubrication on threads), this produces the 70%-of-proof-load tension in the bolt that is usually the target for any bolt.

My torque wrench maxes out at 200Nm and does not work anymore at that setting. Which is why I destroyed the first set of bolts. The wrench just wont click anymore. So I worked my way up to around 190Nm on my wrench plus a teeny tiny little bit more on feel. It's close enough, and it worked so far.

Some Volvo specs mention much less torque for M14 bolts so I'm not sure what's going on. Maybe these are for super clean dry bolts without any rust, or with fluid threadlocker applied?
