What have I done?

Post by biggiewan »

1998 S70 running great until I used compressed air to blow out air filter box.
I replaced mass-air flow-sensor (MAF)with "unbrand" and ran about two weeks then failed. Got a Bosch and ran about two months then failed. Got used MAF from junk yard, ran a couple of minutes.
Got new Bosh and wont even start now.
I am at my wits end.
All this started when I used air to clean out the air filter box.
Help me Obi-wan!

Let's get some ether and figure out if you have fuel or spark issues

What's the status of ignition parts...coil wires cap rotor spark plugs..if they have more than 12000 miles or 12 months, that is the first in t-he ignition diagnosis tree.

Fuel pressure test at the rail is the sure way to diagnosis fuel pump relay and fuel pump...two most common on the fuel diagnosis tree

I may have figured it out. Getting new fuel pump relay after jumping it and getting it running.

Nice! Its really common to correlate stuff to failures that has no bearing. Starting troubleshooting from a blank slate is a really good way to avoid kerfluffles of angst.
