Magnaflow Cat CA Smog Passable?

Post by DoggyB22 »

Does anyone know if this cat would be approved for CA smog? My 1998 Volvo S70 won't pass smog & I'm not willing to pay $1k for a stock replace cat/piping... Thank you for the help!

Welcome .., search Magnaflow and I think there were some CA folks who went this route for smog. The cat has to have a smog number or else you fail visual if course, do for once the beauracracy works for you

If the converter part number and executive number installed is in this database for your specific car, the CC will get the green light so long as you don't have any other issues affecting tailpipe emissions that would cause the car to fail.

Note Magnaflow's parent company is 'Car Sound Exhaust System, Inc.' which is the name the Air Resource Board knows them as listed in the database.
