Disabling Siren Alarm to and Instrument Cluster Failure

Post by volvor60r »

2002 Volvo S60 with Battery Drain and Instrument Cluster Failing (DIM). Shipped Cluster off for repair but it did not fix the problem. I also have a battery drain problem and I saw the known fix several places by disabling the Siren Alarm.

Fixing the battery drain first is key. Already removed and tested fuses.

HOW DO I PERMANENTLY DISABLE THE SIREN ALARM? I found the instructions here to replace the module by removing the passenger tire, etc, but the car is 15 years old. Let's just disable the alarm.

Question: CAN I CUT A WIRE LEADING TO THE SIREN ALARM MODULE to DISABLE the CAR ALARM?

Once the battery drain problem is fixed, I can move on to the instrument panel.

Thank you

See what people say about removing the fuse. I for one just unplugged the module from inside the fender (these connectors are hard to undo). If you just cut the wire to the connector make sure to properly insulate it.
