Removing pnp switch and center nut just spins.

Post by Danimal83 »

I am trying to remove and clean the pnp switch on my 94 850 wagon, non turbo. I have everything off except the center nut that is on the shifter shaft of the pnp. It will not back off. It just spins around the shaft not biting on anything. Does anyone have ideas on how to remove this nut?

Short of trying to get a small screwdriver under the nut and prying upward as you loosen the nut I don't know of anything other than to Dremel the nut off with a cutoff wheel.

Hopefully it is the nut that is stripped and not the shaft but given the shaft design that is the most likely culprit.

Good Luck.
