Volvo People are the Best.

Post by Ozark Lee »

The XC ate the bearings in the starter Bendix a couple of weeks ago and it has been so cold that I just gave my wife the Suburban until it got above freezing so I could change it in the driveway. It warmed up enough today to swap a starter from the parts car into it. The battery was pretty dead so I just left it on the charger in the driveway while we went to an office dinner party.

I came home and there was a box in from of the car with a note.......

I have no idea who it was but I can use them for sure!!

Awesome! Couldn't really see that happening in Sweden/Norway. The US is confusing, you have monthly mass shootings and at the same time you have a really warm and generous local community....

Does not the Noric states do so systematically by, means of social collective bargaining at the national level?

Yes they do, but some would argue, including me, at the expense of social cohesion and reciprocity at the local community /neighborhood level... (Don't know if Mathew appreciate us politicising the forum, guess not...😀?)

We are not politicizing, we are socializing. If somebody jumps in and tries to politicize our socializing, that would be a problem. But to be clear, politicizing not socializing would be the problem. I ask for the facts, not judgements or opinions.

I'm not sure I agree with the reason behind being so simple but I do agree we are often a bit too reserved, keep our business to ourself and expect others to do the same.

There's even an expression, "un-swedish", for when someone is too outgoing in a noticeable way.

Yes, the Volvo community is great. You notice this most when you own other makes and are active on their forums. BMW and Honda owners are definitely not as nice a community. The former can be immature and the latter can be downright mean.

Great community you live in. The other day, someone let my wife ahead of him at a lineup when he saw she was with a kid. That was nice. Never had someone give car parts though, if I'm too busy to take old parts to the metal recycling, I put them to the curb and they are gone in no time.. that is my gift :)

Lately I have been receiving random parts in the mail. Last week I was able to install a brand new set of rear rotors on a families V70 that were shipped to me. Yes I could have saved them for my own use since I have 3 cars that they fit.

It's nice to be blessed and be a blessing. ;)
