Tune the radio? Not seek.

Post by paz5050 »

This seems ridiculous, but I can't figure out how to tune the radio to a particular station. The left and right arrow buttons seek/scan to only stations with strong signals. For example, say I want to go to 107.0, but by pressing arrows it goes from 106.7 to 107.5 with nothing in between. If I want to go to a station in between the stations that my scanner is picking up, how do I do this???

Thanks

Manually search for a known frequency

1. Press and hold the [>>|] or [|<<] button (or the corresponding buttons on the steering wheel keypad). MAN will be shown in the display. The radio will slowly scroll in the desired direction and then increase speed after a few seconds.
2. Release the button when the desired frequency is displayed.
3. If you need to adjust the frequency, press briefly on [>>|] or [|<<] .
4. The manual search function is available for five seconds after you last pressed the button.

That worked! Hero! Thanks.

Oddly, I'm still not able to manually tune to every station, but always to a frequency within 0.1 which is good enough to pick up the desired station (i.e. I wanted 107.0, it wouldn't land on 107.0 exactly, but 107.1 was sufficient).

The center frequency of a FM station always ends with a odd digit, .1 .3 .5 .7 or .9. There is no 107.0, 107.1 is correct. The reason is that the FM band starts at 88.1 MHz and the separation is 200kHz (0.2 Mhz). An odd number plus two is the next odd number.
