serpentine belt 2010 xc 70

belt began smoking near the power steering pump area and screeches when turning the steering wheel. 96k miles.

the power steering is working and the pump pulley is turning.

looking for vid on replacing the belt. is it likely the power steering pump is beginning to fail?

I believe FCP has a video on their website in regards to serpentine belt replacement.
Not sure what vehicle though. I replaced mine on a 2004 V70 is was fairly straight forward.

Double check that the alternator pulley isn't seized.

As above, remove the belt and turn all pulleys by hand - pump, alt and compressor plus tensioner. All should be easy and smooth to.turn. The p/s reservoir should have green fluid at level

A1 Auto, FCP and IPD all videos on serpentine replacement. The A1 Auto has one done on a V70.

At the minimum, you are going to need to replace the belt. Possibly the tensioner, the power steering pump, or the alternator too.
All of these items are really easy DIY projects though.
