Looking for a Parts Car for 2000 V70 XC

I would like to own a parts car to keep my 2000 V70 XC wagon on the road. Is a 1998 or 1999 V70 wagon suitable, or should I narrow my search to only 2000 models? There is a $700 '98 and $800 '99 nearby. Over the next decade, I intend on using the rims, tires, side mirror, bumpers, headlights, blower motor, battery, alternator, O2 sensor, etc. Hoping these are all transferable. I'm hoping to keep this awesome car going as long as I can. Great forum, and thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum!
For body and trim parts, either can provide many parts. The 99 can give you more as far as some engine systems and the electrical/computer controls added for that year.
Additionally, the drivetrain continued to evolve during that period, so depending on your VIN, it is not likely that the AWD components from either of them will help. (may beat some core charges though.

As FLXC90 said, the '99 is your best bet due to the similarities as far as the engine goes. I don't know of the changes to the AWD system from '99 to 2000, but that's definitely something worth looking into if you're concerned.
The 1998 would also be fine of course, but you will be limited on what you can use when it comes to engine parts. Say an ignition coil goes out on your 2000, you can't take that from the '98.

2000 XC is probably the best if you can find one. The 2000 AWD parts are mostly different the the 99 and earlier as they changed every year. The hubs for the XC are also different to the regular AWD and FWD. Fronts may be the same the rears are definitely different. Bumpers on an XC are also different to a FWD and regular AWD. any interior parts are the same. AWD rear sub-frames and emissions systems for 99-00 AWD are also different and many of the parts for the rear end of the car are becoming obsolete so have a full rear sub-frame to pull from would be ideal. Does your car have a 4 or 5 speed auto?
