Hello, I have search and found lots of good info but I think my 850 being a 1994, it is a little different.
If the driver's side unlatches, isn't there a way to pull some cable to get the other side too? I have pulled the blinker off of the passenger side and mine doesn't look like the later model 850's. I have spent a long time and I can't see how to release anything. I need help!

The passenger side cable might be stretched just enough the cable cannot unlatch with a load on the latch. Or the latch maybe out of alignment which can put an excessive load on the latch.
Try this:
1. Push and hold the hood down, this will take the load off the latch.
2. Have somebody pull and hold the hood release lever.
3. When they say go, let up on the hood.
If this gets the hood open, lube and realign the latches.

Mine has this issue too, and I have to pull UP on the hood and then go pull the release lever again to get it to open.

Many of the other posts wanted you to pull up on the hood and then pull the lever.
I have been doing work smarter, not harder for a long time. To many people resort to brute force by default.

1. Open hood.
2. Loosen Latch bolts just enough that you can push the latches around but they stays in place on their own.
3. Close hood and press down, this will realign the latches with the hood.
4. Gently open hood and tighten latch bolts down.
5. Test to make sure it is releasing correctly.

I have a similar issue where I have to pull the release and only one side will release. I have to pull up on the hood. Pull the release again, and then the hood fully releases. Greasing the latches helps for a while. Happens more often when it's cold.

Either:
- Lower the latch (3 10-mm bolts) a bit, mark with sharpie before you do it as a reference point....or
- Add a piece of furniture felt on the radiator shroud, exactly where the rubber mount (from the hood) meets the radiator shroud.

Open! I had my son push DOWN on the hood after it had already opened on the driver's side and it popped, first try. Now I am going to go about adjusting and lubricating to avoid this in the future. Thanks for the help.
It is funny after messing with it by myself for an hour, to having open first try with help. At least I showed restraint and knew to walk away before I broke something. Lesson learned.

I would recommend removing the RH headlight when adjusting or even the LH one so it it sticks you can manually release until you get it set properly.
