Hy Guys,
I open this new topic for a new job. I would like to know if someone has already replace an axle carrier on his volvo v 70 ?
I drove in a hole recently, a little deep one : I' lost some air and the axle carrier hit the side of the hole. With the new French technical control, my car will be refused in that state.
I've looked on the forum, there seem to be only topics about axle mounts.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If you are talking about the sub-frame it is a fairly big job. Not sure if repairing is an option as it is a hollow item. If the engine and transmission are supported, you will have to unbolt the steering rack also and anti-sway bar to remove the sub-frame. There are other things attached to.
Then replace the whole thing with a good used one. as it is all out take the opportunity to replace all 4 of the sub-frame bushes.
Neil.

Heil Neil,
Thanks for advices. I have not really the choice to do differently. I may need a torque wrench I mean.
Is someone has the diagram of what is supported by this sub-frame ? It could be helpful.

- This is the subframe dent.
- If the car drives well, this little dent should not affect the ride or safety. Or maybe the inspector will not notice it.
- For subframe replacement, you need to support the engine first. There are some photos in forum.
