08 s80 v8 sound system not working... Anybody?
Just wanted to bought the car 3 days ago and found that only the driv driver's side door had full sound. No I've noticed that the passenger side and rear doors if I switch the balance just to the passenger and Rears they only have tweet sound. If I switch the balance to the front driver side it has full bass full range. I'm not sure if anyone else has had similar issues with theirs. Also it's the dynaudio system.

I read somewhere on these forums that they are prone to blowing speakers. Don't know if that's true or not but it would seem that you could pull one of the interior door skins - like the front passenger side and connect a known good speaker if you have one, or swap speakers. The audio system uses fiber optic cables and I believe the amplifier is under the passenger seat, but since the tweeter is working I suggest checking speakers first. There is a crossover circuit board in the door too that could have a problem.
Odd that three doors have tweeters working though. Wish I knew more about this because it would seem unlikely that all 3 doors have blown speakers. Check out one door to confirm and go from there. Good luck and hopefully someone else can provide a bit more info for you.

If speakers are not found to be bad then it is the Amplifier under RF seat. The fact that tweeters work and you can change fade or balance establishes the MOST optic fiber circuit is intact. If the car ever had a stopped up A/C drain that amp can get wet and fail.

So what happened with this ? ? I was looking through service receipts for my car the other day and there was a past complaint to the dealer about radio not working. They repaired it at the dealer by installing software. It wasn't that expensive, around $100 (several years ago) so maybe get your dealer to diagnose the problem for you.
