ignition coils has failed due to spark plug large gap

is it possible one or more of the ignition coils to fail (Check Engine Light code Po302)due to too high voltage to spark plug---could indicate excessive spark plug gap.
The old spark plugs gap was 052----- I think should be around 030-all wires ok
I the faulty coil and all the spark plugs and fixed problem

No,

Coils fail b/c of internal short (the insulation of the copper windings fails), especially with heat. Get used coils on ebay for cheap.

Yes, excess gap is one of the more common root causes for coil failure.

Excessive gap can cause an ignition coil to overheat. More of the energy from the collapsing electromagnetic field gets converted to heat rather then discharged as electrical energy.

I would guess your plugs failed with Wear and your coil failed on time. Your four other coils are probably arguing with the Grim Reaper, too. At very least carry a good spare ( shameless plug

but if it’s a daily driver do the other four next payday,

Ive got some cheap spares in the parts for sale Forum as do others, or Pnp.

Gotta conclude the unadjustable "tri-tode" sparky-poos in non-turbos, when replaced on schedule, eliminate that failure point.
