Shake and shifter is pushed into manual shift
My 03 Volvo S60 suddenly developed a drivetrain Shake Midway home today. It got progressively worse 15 miles to home. When put in park it was tough to do so. When put back into drive an invisible force was pushing the shifter into the manual side of Drive and I had more difficulty getting it back into Park. I'm at a loss what is the problem and how do I fix it? Also when I took a big turn to the left the shake all but disappeared when I turn to the right the Shake maintained its presence through the turn.

It sounds like a massive failure of engine mounts letting your engine and trans wobble around.
Time to flatbed it to the fixing location - Volvo , Independent, or home.
Do not drive it.
