Since the salt has been washed off the road and spring has arrived it was time to get the R on the road again. Now after driving the t5m all winter the R seems nice but the AT just wastes so much fun.
The tranny works perfectly fine, but I wish it would respond quicker. I really have to stomp on the pedal uncomfortanly hard to get tge tranny to shift down 2 gears while cruising at city or slow highway speeds.
This got me thinking: is that normal or is there something that is misadjusted or worn out or a leaky vacum line?
On the old TH 350 or TH 400s there was a kickdown switch, but I guess it isn'tthat easy with P80 cars?
Btw., the tranny is in Sport Mode

Automatic transmissions in our cars are computer controlled...not vacuum controlled. There is TCM besides ECU in ecu box.
You have a kickdown switch on your car too.
I don't know....my a AT respond pretty quick in sport mode.
Make sure that your winter/econ/sport switch works.
I find that auto transmissions in these cars are pretty fast and responsive, they adapt to your driving style.
If your battery has been disconnected during winter storage, drive it a bit.Your AT needs to go through re-learning procedure and to store your driving habbits.
