Just a quick heads-up that if you're in my boat (above-mentioned setup) and you have:
[1] Installed Win7
[2] Installed VIDA 2014d
[3] Installed the USB3 Intel tools
And you still can't get DiCE USB to connect to Windows, go into System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and you may find that VMWare needs approval to make system changes. Allow those changes and all should be well (provided you got VIDA to work following the other great threads below).
