I received the brake cables from Eeuroparts. They are the PEX brand and say the are the same as oem #3524199. I won't be installing them for a couple of weeks but will let you know if they fit.

Got my threaded adjusters done, great.

I replaced everything from hand lever to the drum/disks.
No joy until I added the adjusters.

Just to recap the part numbers for the adjusters are: 30793437 AND 30793438. And don't forget the hidden expansion adjuster for the cables in the center console up front! (Great work jonesg!)

Same here new cables didn't help.

What I did hear is that when Volvo renamed everything, they also consolidated many late model parts including the brake shoes. Which means they are about 3mm , where they fit into the "H" spacer, too small. It's NOT the cables, unless they are damaged, it's the fact that the shoes are too sloppy. ALSO the cam mechanism that actuates the shoes ONLY has so much "expansion," once you run out of that expansion, you run out of that expansion, playing with the cables is just not going to work.

Or you can fill in the center section of the "H" spacers with a little weld and then trial and error grind them to fit, that will also work.

The parking shoes need to be tight,....it also helps with the delamination issue. Use them now and then. BTW setting them at about 20 mph will round them and keep them from touching too much when they are released, yes the retraction springs actually work.

I think we are the only country that thinks AT makes parking brakes not necessary

Stop Car with foot brake

Keep foot on foot brake

Pull parking brake on

Shift to park

Release foot brake
