What to do when you can't find a part

Hi,
I have been driving a 95 volvo 850 manual for about a year. It needs a module and the mechanic is having a hard time finding one used. I cannot afford a new one and I dont want to sink that much into it for a new one. I really need to fix this car as it is all I can afford right now. What does everyone do when you can't find the right parts? Am I out of luck at this point? Thank you.

What module the car needs?
'97 850 2.5 20v / fully equipped / Motronic 4.4 from the factory / upgraded with S,V,C,XC70 instrument cluster / polar white wagon

Well best thing is to let us know exactly what the part is and ideally a picture and part number to ensure we help to try to find the right part. A Vin# also helps if you don't know a part number as we need some info to work with.

When we want a used part and can't find one locally, we often ask for one right here. Or search the online junkyards (e.g. car-part.com). But the forum is my first stop. There is also a "parts wanted " section but just ask here if you want to get more readers.

As mentioned let us know what you need, probably we can help you.

Whatever it is you're looking for is out there for sale somewhere. Whether it be from one of us on this forum, a self service junkyard, eBay, Craigslist, or a junkyard website.
