Changed fuel pump 1998 volvo v70xc.

Post by Brianscott »

I changed my fuel pump and now theres no fuel at the rail. Before i changed it i would get some fuel at the rail and i couldnt hear the fuel pump come on at all. Now that i have changed it i hear the pump but there is jo fuel at the rail. Im lost at what to do. It would start sometimes with old pump but it gave out on me and i replaced it.

Did you reconnect the fuel lines properly? If you switch the two fuel lines you will not get pressure at the rail.

Yeah i put the lines on the correct ports. They arent long enough to not get them on the wrong ones on mine.

With Proparts you mean proparts sweden? The chinese super low quality brand? Alot of people had horrible experiences with their stuff. This sucks, especially on an awd.

With a ProParts fuel pump assemmbly, one of MVS members had car which burnt in a flame, because of a fuel leak which caused by a crack on assembly.

Stick to original used one from a junkyard...it is more reliable than new aftermarket from ProParts.
If you actually need a new one, stick with good known aftermarket brands like Hella,Delphi,Febi...etc.
Avoid a "never heard" brand for anything...even for vipers.
To avoid confusion....i'm talking about assembly.

For fuel pump...Walbro (if you have a luck to find original),Pierburg,Bosch(oem),Hella,Siemens or Meat & Doria(they have Bosch,Siemens or Pierburg inside the box).Whatever you get from those three brands in the box, they are oem quality.

You maybe can't go wrong on the outside of the housing, but check if you connected feed line correctly INSIDE the housing.
