06 XC70. Maybe this is why the headlight washers don't work?

Dealer highlighted the headlight washers were not working. Bought a pump as it requires the front bumper cover to be removed to access the pump. Hoped that the pump would be repairable like those on my P80's but this is what I found. Looks like an Alien movie event.....:

Maybe, just maybe that is why it wasn't working!!!!

Looks like Calgary got a bit too cold for your W/S fluid !

Funny think is I am fairly certain the car has only had W/S fluid rated for -30C or lower in our ownership over the last 7+ years. I have actually never checked it for operation.
