Add Folding Mirrors

I want to add the folding mirrors to my 2008 XC90. How difficult is this to do? I know some cars come pre-wired and it just requires the pieces needed.

Any insight to this?

I'd also like know what all is needed to do this on a '13.

Only caveat in my mind is the pinout of the mirror harness/connector in the door, I am not sure if it's pre-wired and ready to go for folding or not, someone can confirm as fact.

Assuming that the wiring is not an issue and the car does not have BLIS, it'll need the right PN for a post-07 folding mirror (31297437 left, 31297438 right) plus software (9498034 for no memory, 8633764 with memory) and a switch (30746009).
Software comes from the dealer and will have a cost for the code the plus labor to connect and load.

Believe pin 14 is for the folding mirror motor (see http://www.volvowiringdiagrams.com/volv ... iagram.pdf, starting page 131).

Might be some other ways to do the conversion (manual switch, etc.) but this is what I think is required to make it work like it was designed to work. For what it's worth....

Thanks for the info. I'll start digging around for parts. As an old school stereo guy, the wiring is the least of my worries.

One of our forum members can add/reprogram software to the CEM so this feature can work. Post back once you have the hardware. You'll need your own Dice tool.
