A side thought also after reading one of the 'similar topics' listed at the bottom of the page- I agree with something Matt said about the beige seeming more 'noisy' when driving. I have noticed I feel I less inclined to look around inside the car and more at the road in my black interior s60 than I do in my beige s40. I also feel as though I have an easier time checking my blind spot in the s60, but I'm sure that could easily be the proportions of the cars windows and the location of the pillars.

Another reason why dark interior might be preferred- wouldn't it make it harder to see into a car with tinted windows? Portland has a very high car break in rate, especially in the parking garages.

The P2 seats are way more comfortable for really long all day drives than the P80 seats. Though those are still better than even most new cars not to mention other cars the same age.

Also I don't agree a dark interior is easier to keep. Sure stains might not show as easily but every piece of dust does. A light interior doesn't show dust which makes a large difference. Things like worn leather will show either way, darker or lighter cracks show just the same.

....... The dust thing does make me really sad about dark interiors. Same goes for dry dirt in the air, and I live down a long gravelly dry dirt driveway. And like to drive with my windows down.

I am in the opinion camp that the P80 is better than P2 seat but it’s really incremental. Volvo makes a really nice seat especially for fat guys.

I'd say the P80s feel plusher but to me that makes them less comfortable for long drives where I prefer something a bit stiffer. I spend 15 hours behind the wheel of my V70 the other day and felt fine except for tired eyes.

Thats so funny. I feel exactly the same with P80 and P2 reversed - the P2 feels that bit softer, even at 100k miles vs 200k miles of my BFA in the 1999. I did just replace my seat bottom in the P80 with a passenger one and its even firmer which I like more.

They are both really nice seats and I like them both more than my VW, BMW, MB that I drive.

I fell in love with grey interiors years ago.
However, since I've been driving used cars I haven't gotten a choice so I haven't bemoaned what came in any particular car.

I have to agree with Abscate, the P80 seats seem firmer to me. I've never owned a P2, but from the seats I've seen in the junkyard, they tend to be softer than the P80 seats.
I feel I'd like the P2 better simply because it seems to have a lower driving position compared to the upright seating position of the P80. Maybe it's my age, but I much prefer a lower slung, sportier driving position to being upright. My V70's seat tends to hurt my neck on longer trips.
It's also a pretty precise task getting the seat in the right position being 6'2" but liking to be as close as possible without my knees in my mouth.

Road view in the P2 is awesome, with that hood that dives off into the road. The interior is also a lot upgraded and they are tomb like quiet inside

Someone had posted that the reflection from their tan dashboard? I know sometimes mistakingly people will detail their cars with armour all or whatever . If you have a shiny dash ...pour pure rubbing alcohol onto a clothe and it will cut the shininess down and won't hurt the dash... just nuetralize with clear water afterwards....MDK
