Volvo ETM software

Hello guys! This is my first post! I had a failing ETM with number 8644345 (White sticker) and i replaced it with a contactless ETM with number 8644344 (Yellow sticker), and now it works because i can press down both gas and brake and i revs. But the engine runs rough and idles at 2000 rpm. Anybody knows how to clone my old software and load it to the new ETM?
It is a Volvo V70 2.4 103kw(140 HP) 2001

From what I've read on these boards I believe the Volvo VIDA is necessary.

Who did the ETM replacement? Where'd you procure your new ETM. The reason I ask is because there have been posts where someone got their own hardware and the Volvo dealer wouldn't touch it (transfer whatever software) because the poster hadn't bought it from them.

Not to criticize your actions but I do believe the main attraction of having XeMODeX or some other known shop rebuild your ETM is that your own software isn't effected.

From what I can gather there are two things that prevent cloning with the hacked version of VIDA.

1. Getting a copy of the software. VIDA can burn but not copy software.
2. You need a software key to get the control module into programing mode.

The guys that do software transfers have databases of software which they obtained by purchasing thru Volvo or by physically hacking a control module board and copying the software. Which is legal as long as they have a control module with that software in their possession. It is perfectly legal for them to burn a copy to a control for somebody else who has a car that uses that software.

No doubt these guys have a lot of time and money invested in their setups. Don't expect them to give it away.
