Hi, I'm diagnosing a different issue on my '81 245 with K Jet, but noticed today that one of my belts was twisted and another was delaminating.....this makes me ticked a little, a few months back I had the car in for some other repairs and they said "the belts are loose, we'll tighten them", well I think they overtightened or something because now I have this issue.
Anyway I loosened the alternator belt which was twisted, untwisted it and got it back under proper tension.
I ordered 3 new belts.
My question is, I can see how I can loosen the top section of the power steering pump to get that belt loose, but what/where do I loosen to get the belt loose that goes from the lower pulley on the steering pump to the engine pulley? I couldn't really see where there was an obvious place to do this, and my Haynes manual is waaaay too general on this topic.
thanks for any input!

Belt change K jet
Just to clarify I think the belt I need to get off to replace the 2 alternator belts is the AC belt.
I don't see where I can loosen the AC. I must be missing something. Also, I was just thinking, since my AC is no longer functioning do I even need to have a belt there?
thanks,
Klook
