I am having these codes:
P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire
P0201 Injector circuit/open cylinder 4
P0204 Injector circuit/open cylinder 1
P0118 ECT circuit high input
P0455 Evap emission system leak detected
P0300 Random misfire detected
Engine ticks while driving.
First it started with the p0445, then escalated into the misfiring along with the other codes. The acceleration would surge at random times.
Put in brand new spark plugs and brand new fuel injectors.
Replaced the ignition coils for 1 and 4.
Still having the same problems but no more surging.
Could it be the wiring for the spark plugs?
Does this even exist? I cannot find it anywhere.
If anyone knows, please let me know.
99 S70 NA. Where can I get new spark plug wiring?!

Clear codes and see what comes back.
The injector codesare for the wiring to the fuel injectors, but that’s a rare failure point. If they return the next step would be evaluating them, perhaps by moving them to a new cylinder. You will need new o rings to do this

Hey Ashley 2319...MDK here. So I read your post and I sold my 99 S70 AWD GLT last year. I'm sure that your engine has what they call coil over plug. You may need new spark plugs. I just put a new set in R car.runs a lot better...or a bad coil itself. If it running rough..I hope this helps

use a mechanics stethoscope or improvised version, to identify where the ticking is coming from. is it the injectors? are some "firing" different from others? (different sound) is it the plugs, or is it the lifters. Also, does your temp gauge seem to be working normally? with the code for the ECT, it may be squirting rich causing the surges you had.

1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Well the ride was completely dead this morning. Nothing lighting up whatsoever.
I have 3 more ignition coils on order but now I’m thinking it’s something else...?
