1994 850 Recirc damper motor

Hello,

I am having trouble finding a motor for the recirc damper door. I would be willing to buy a used one but I’m leary to because on two of my 850’s, they are bad...either stripped gear teeth or bad motor. Any suggestions out there? I found one for $177 but I’m allergic to spending that right now on this project.

That is crazy money. The motors on an 850 are all the same so there are 5/car. S/V/C70's also use the same motor although they only have 4 of them. It is unusual for them to fail, but they do (I have had 2 in 5 cars). Do you have a cabin filter fitted? If not get one from a V/S 70 and transfer the mount that is a straight swap and make sure you have a filter to keep crap out of the system.

Of all the motors it is the easiest to fit, only one Torx screw. Just make sure you have the motor in the correct position before fitting the arm to it for the flap as you will burn the motor out otherwise.

Thanks Neil,
I suspect this one was a result of an improper arm assembly. I am replacing a lot of broken parts on this 850 due to a failed attempt by the previous owner to remove and replace the dash. Everything he touched is broken! I will keep looking.

If you have no luck locally for a motor PM me. Shipping from Canada is usually the killer, but I have a few kicking about that work.
