'98 C70 Driver Seat Power Panel Replace

Post by cansavural29 »

Hey there, ex. @cansavural here.

I finally found a fully working driver's seat power panel (with memory) and I'm going to change it. However as far as I found any guide to change, it is not compatible with C70, it is generally for S70 or V70. There is a T30 screw I think it holds the airbag, not the panel. I can not push it hard because I'm afraid airbag might blew :D

Here is a picture to illusterate; Image

So, did anyone done this before? Any tips?

Disconnect your negative battery cable an hour before messing with the air bag systems. On that year it's part of the sips.. so you have to hit them pretty hard for them to go off. We discharged a few just for kicks as we were changing both front seats because the leather was deteriorated. As long as your panel will plug in and all the mounts are the same I would say that it will probably work. On trick...if you can... Is to raise the seat as high as you can for easier access...or unbolt the seat from the floor....
