1999 v70 problem

Post by kjt1211 » Sat Jul 07, 2018 6:57 pm

Hi all, I have a 1999 V70 that has started shutting down after about 10 blocks of driving. If I let it sit for five minutes, it'll start up again. Then the same thing over and over. I have a feeling it may have something to do with the vapor recovery canister. I already checked (and double checked) the gas cap so it's not that.

Any thoughts?

Check your fuel pump relay. You can run a jumper to bypass it and see if it will run after 12+ blocks of driving. If not, check fuel pressure at fuel rail.

When was the fuel filter last changed?

In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

+1 on the fuel filter.
Just change it as it's the "cheapest good first step" in such a scenario.
