Lower coolant attachment on a1998 Volvo s70 non turbo 2.4 automatic

Post by Grumpygrum »

My issue…

Replaced radiator from salvage yard, by mistake gave them radiator plus lower coolant attachment for core. Replaced radiator did not have lower coolant attachment on it. At this time I did not know it was a separate piece thought it was all one, being radiator. Two lines go to air compressor that attaches to lower coolant. I have never had, nor do I care about a/c, my concern is the replacement cost of lower coolant part. So my question to you is…can I run my vehicle without this piece, and if so what do I do with the lines that are suppose to attach to it. I have the other 2 lines attached to radiator but I have nothing to attach the other 2 lines too. Any help would be so appreciated.

Ive been told that if an in-built power steering cooler is inside I must have the attachment, how do I find out if it does or not if I don't have the old part?

Thank you in advance,

Carolyn Russell

Welcome Carolyn !

There are two sets of cooler attachments on your radiator

On the driver side, the transmission cooler lines

On the passenger side, the engine oil cooler lines.

Are you saying the replacement radiator doesn’t match up with your old one?

You should be able to get those parts cheap at a PnP , aka parts recycler, aka junkyard
