Possibly a faulty ignition coil. Get a use one from the junkyard and replace them one by one to find the culprit if that was the issue.
May as well be an issue with the fuel delivery (clogged fuel filter, or faulty pressure sensor)

Is the engine light on? 5 cyl AWD, 2.9, or T6? No engine light or codes look at the CV joints. If codes are present post them. Also was any work recently done prior to the problem? On my 2004 S80 T6 both times I thought the car had a misfire it was axles both times. Neither time were any codes present or engine light on. June
