My daughter had a fender bender w/ her 2004 S40 (p1). The hood is toast and it pushed back the Upper support (boom) part no 30872678., and broke the passenger headlight lens. The radiator is intact and nothing is rubbing remarkably. I found a few replacement hoods at local junkyards and already ordered the lens cover.
How is the Upper support connected? I haven't started disassembly yet ( this weekend). Is it bolt-on or welded? Just trying to figure out if I want to try and pull the existing one out to get it close or replace it( replacement part ~$120).
On another topic, since I'll have the headlights out, are there any upgrades that are worth doing?
thanks,
Peeter

I believe the radiator support is welded.
Good that you only needed and found a lens cover. I recently had to replace the entire headlight assembly and it was $280 IIRC.
The plastic had deteriorated so much that it was unusable.
Upgrades? Yea, remove the dumb headlight wipers!
