Oxygen Sensor for S80

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Oxygen Sensor for S80

Post by clay roby »

The check engine codes show that I need to replace the front oxygen sensor/s on my 1999 Volvo S80 (2.9 liter engine). If possible, I would like to use a oxygen sensor. Anyone had any luck doing this? If so, any advice on what brand or type to purchase?

All of our Volvo's use a Bosch brand sensor, but specific for our cars (wiring harness), so don't get some generic one. People who have tried to save a buck on these have most often been dissapointed.

Don't know about on an S80, but often on S70 and earlier 850's when we've gotten an 02 sensor code, it's sometimes MAF sensor or even vacuum hose leaks, so make sure and check these out before spending for the expensive sensor.
