Greetings!
I've noticed that the clutch on my '00 V70 feels extra stiff on occasion, usually after highway driving without shifting. It takes maybe twice as much pressure to engage the pedal initially, and then it resumes its normal resistance.
Is this cause for immediate concern? The clutch does need to be replaced soon, anyway, but I would love to avoid any damage to the system in the meantime.
Thanks for reading!

Probably the release bearing going out. Plan on replacing that when you do the clutch. Mine had self destructed and little metal ball bearings were running out the weep hole between engine and M56 transmission
The P2 clutch is a thing of beauty, use Volvo parts (Sachs OEM)
If you don’t have an engine hanger I’ll bring mine down

Thanks, abscate. I hadn't looked for ball bearings being ejected from this vehicle, though the EuroVan fuel pump was throwing off BBs like exhaust, apparently. I'll keep an eye out now.
My brother could definitely use an engine hanger. We're hoping to change the EV timing chains in the next week or so.
OEM definitely sounds like a good bet for the V70 clutch. Thanks!
