I need to short belt the Serpentine until I can get to a defective A/C clutch or pulley bearing. Has anybody worked out a short belt that will do?

Clutch is dragging and rubbing when the coil is disengaged. Alignment between the pulley and clutch is not true.

That plan is shot to hell. Pulled the Clutch hub hoping it was just the bearing. Bearing rock solid. I can find clutch hubs but not the pulley. This is the first time I had a pulley do this ..... Pulley hub separation.

BTW: Three M6 bolts is all you need to push a stuck Clutch hub off. Screw the three M6 bolts into the three holes and tighten then down, they will push the hub off. No need to make, rent or buy a puller when a dirt cheap pusher will do. You can also use the three M6 bolts in lieu of a three pin spanner. Two specialty tools replaced buy three cheap bolts.

Figure out a short belt option for White block RN engines (4, 5 & 6 cylinder) , Volvo part number 9146844.
Will keep you rolling after a A/C compressor lockup .... etcetera.

I'm not sure if it will work for the RNC engines.

Confirmed: I got the Duralast equivalent from Autozone. Autozone/Duralast stock number 495K6, European standard 6PK1255.

Use the official Volvo short belt routeing. It is a tight fit, you will need to slip the belt on as somebody bumps the starter.

Note that it reverses the direction of alternators rotation, which won’t affect electrical operation, but if you have a free wheeling pulley, it will no longer charge. I believe free wheeling pulleyscame standard in 1999

The alternator does not reverse direction.

On the left the belt is moving left to right at the alternator, the belt runs over the top of the alternator pulley spinning the alternator clockwise.

On the right the belt is moving right to left at the alternator, the belt runs under the bottom of the alternator pulley spinning the alternator clockwise.
