EDIT 99 and 2000 fender liners are not the same as 850's

I need to replace a front fender liner on one 850 and possibly a rear on the other. The only vehicles available right now at the yard I'll be visiting are a 99 and 2000. I realize there are some styling differences between those years, but not having them side by side or any experience with the later ones, I don't have a basis for comparison.

Will they work?

I don't think so... based on the fact that 850s can only fit 215 width tires, and S70/V70 will fit 225s

People stick much wider tyres than 215 on 850s over here. It sucks but it works.

The fenders are different. Not sure about the liners.

My Vida system is down but I will check once it is back up. Take a picture of yours and where the rivets and mudflaps fit as well as the inner fender mounts and see if they are in the same area. It maybe they can be made to fit.

Vida would suggest they don't fit. However, sometimes Volvo has different part numbers for the 850 and V/S70 that followed but they are the same parts. So suggest you follow my suggestion as they may work out.

Funnily we have no V/S70's at PnP these days that I am looking for parts from, but we do have a couple of 850's.

@Neil: Thanks for checking VIDA. Based on what you discover, if the later liners look similar to the 850's, I'll have my 850 with me tomorrow, so I can pull a liner and compare it visually to mine before I buy it. But since it's a chore cutting out the rivets I'd rather know in advance if it isn't likely to fit.

Battery powered drill. Takes about two minutes. Doesn't it?

Today, I checked out the 99 and 2000, the differences are visually obvious, so that swap is a no go.

Well at least you and now all of us know. It is a shame stuff is so expensive to ship from Canada for bulky stuff as there is a 40% off sale at PnP this weekend and there are currently 3 850's there but no idea what is still on them.
